My ears are still ringin'

I went with pope to the Culture Room to check out Soulfly, for some face-melting action. It was a great show! It was good to see that the culture room hadn't changed a bit. Still the same old bartenders are working there, those women are ancient...farting dust no doubt. This band I hadn't heard of "prong" took the stage, they were dooope! It was a nice time! I'm glad I came out!

Xbox360 broke? Manhandle it.

Yesterday, my xbox tried to pull a fast one on me. It lit up two red lights, AKA sleeping on the job. I immediately went online. Found out my warranty had been expired for a year and that they would repair this "overheating" error for just $99.99. The box had been on for a whopping 2 minutes. I wasn't gonna have it so I went to YouTube. Found how to open the case, which is a mission...no doubt designed like this to keep people from opening it and to keep people shelling out the cash. Opened the sucker up, cleaned it out with a compressed air can, put it back together and it works like a charm.

UPDATE: No, it doesn't.

I'm sad :( and looking for people who can fix it...might have to send it to Hialeah.

UPDATE 2: It Still doesn't.

Left it overnight at this dude who says he would repair it. Waiting to hear from him.

UPDATE 3: Heck yah it works!

This dude in Hialeah was the bomb! The xbox is doing fine and dandy, played for more than 3 hours the first night and no problems! A true professional at work. I recommend you go here if your xbox craps out!

Oh, hey! is that you blog?

Howdy there.

Let's pretend like my absence didn't happen ok?

I'm here to recommend podcasts. A lot of you that know me, know that I'm a podcast freak and that I listen to them nonstop. Most of you however, will probably ignore this because you fall into one of these categories:

1.- I've given podcasts a try...Once, I downloaded like a bagillion of them, I was quickly overwhelmed, and deleted them after I noticed they were clogging up my hard drive space.

2.- You mean, it's just like...people talking? That's boring!

3.- What's a podcast?

If you fall into #2, I ain't talking to you.

My list of must hear podcasts:



1.- This American Life.

To sum this up in a short description would be impossible. In the wise words of the show's creator: "It's like little movies, for the radio".



2.- WNYC's RadioLab

Science. On steroids. Moving, irreverent, curious, incredible.
They inspire me so much on every episode, it's truly unbelievable.



3.- Film Sack

One of the many podcasts from Frogpants Studios. Captained by ubergeek Scott Johnson, and flanked by other very funny co-hosts, these cats sit around, watch horrible movies (and occasionally some good ones), and rip 'em to shreds. It's also a little interactive too, they announce the next film to be ripped apart, you can watch ahead of the show, and then sit back and enjoy sheer hilarity. If you like Mystery Science Theater, you will love Film Sack.



4.- Dan Carlin's Hardcore History

I've recently discovered this guy. He gives the most engaging history lessons ever, because they don't feel like history lessons. This one is definitely not for the faint of heart though, his descriptions of some of the horrors of war are absolutely gripping.




5.- The Instance

I play World of Warcraft, and if you do, and you haven't heard this...you need to. This one is a niche one for sure, although the show's hosts claim there are many listeners that don't play WoW.
