The smell of good food is in the air as we get ready to receive the new year. We've got some great friends visiting, we've got the grapes and the wine, and the champagne bottles chilling, we've got the candles lit and the oven turned on...We're ready to welcome 2008 :) are you?
I was fortunate enough to score tickets for Sevendust today (Thanks JM!)...I must say that it is one of the great rock bands out there now. A solid performance that had everybody bouncin' and jumpin' around. I'm there for the next one!
...My father took me to this undisclosed location. This place is a warehouse. Right after calle ocho, this place is a wine cellar...Wines from all over the globe are sold here for cheap. And You as a customer can come into this anonymous building, pick your bottle, order a prosciutto and cheese sandwich and just enjoy. Happy Wine at Miami is a wonderful concept for a business. Phillippe, is a french guy who obviously loves what he does for a living, he welcomes everybody into his place, even artists who sporadically come in and play old time cuban songs for you. I had a great time with my father today.
Back in the day I made a little experiment. I took over 5000 pictures of my friends and family over the course of a year or so...Some days I took a bunch, some days I took a few, but they all made it in here. I set it to the music of Millencolin, one of my favorite punk bands. I found it yesterday so I decided to share.
I gave a cookie monster to my nephew. I got a surprise call from April and she visited! I had a nice talk with my brother from another mother, Javier. I had another suprise call from Richard, he says he's down here in Miami, we're gonna hang out this coming Wednesday! I went to my friend's Carlos to hang out there for a while. I spent time with my dad this morning, watching Planet Earth (a gift from me). And now I'm in bed, and it's cloudy outside. I had a great Christmas. Surprises, good company, great friends. Perfect.
...This thing was my companion all over Europe...I collected a whole bunch of stuff to stick in it later. Today I broke out my bag and found all kinds of cool stuff that reminded me of the little things. Like subway trips, or whatever I ate on a particular day. :) Today I did all transportation... Subway tickets, plane tickets, maps, even barf bags :). I also stuck on the back cover a pin for every city I visited...my dad and I made it a point to find a pin for each one. Can't wait to go back!
...this at my place. Today's the day I realized it's almost Christmas, it always hits me unexpectedly, especially since I'm so busy these days. Things just smell different and look different. It's a great feeling. So here's a couple of snaps of my living room .
Today is a great day. My schedule is swamped with sleeping in, xbox360 gaming, and just plain old nothing...Maybe I'll head out later tonight to do something but hmmm....i'm still thinking about that. :) Right now what has me occupied is the Burnout Paradise demo....Few games make me laugh out loud, but it's just priceless when you flip on the nitro boost and smash into medians and oncoming traffic. :) Definitely THE game to buy next month....muahahaha
The already infamous ICG intern, David Fried, goes on about anything....and I do mean ANYTHING. Like hair. You can check out more of this character, at my buddy Blur's blog: World of Blur
At ICG we have a new tradition. At 5:30 we go to the roof, watch the sunset and just chill. It's true what they say...It's the little things that make life good.
A lot of things happened. As part of ichameleon Chrismukkah celebrations, the yearbook committee put up the people's choice awards. The preparations for the event were very intense, I got about 15 minutes of sleep in a span of 24 + hours, rendering video and dealing with buggy programs... But in the end it was all worth it...We put up an excellent show. Blur, JP and I (Fish Market) played 3 songs and we blew the roof off that garage...and the show-reel which I slaved over the past weeks was very well received. All the blood, sweat and tears that took for it to be completed were so worth the crowd reacting and the "ICG!" chants that followed. After that Pablo, Cossette and I, went to "La Barraca" for some tapas and sangria and tablao flamenco dancing, which was breath-taking... Last night, when I got home from my cousins house, I found my father just popping in a movie, La Vie En Rose, which is about the life of Edith Piaf...We watched it together and we celebrated Edith like she would have liked to be celebrated, drinking about 3 bottles of Saint Emillion wine and listening to her music. I recommend you go and rent or buy this movie....you won't be disappointed.
I never think of it every year, and it always takes me by surprise. I get in my car, clueless, every one of those sunday mornings, I turn on the car, flip some music on and go. Then I see it. Thousands upon thousands of bikes going westbound on I-595. They come all the way from Pompano to a park right near my house. It's The Christmas Toy Run...At some point there are so many bikes, that the road is filled with colorful motorcycles, all of which carry a toy for kids this holiday season.
Then the afternoon at the office...We're cookin' up some cornbread at the factory for next week, so we were there to make sure right amount of sugar was in the mix...so we worked and chilled...
It's been scientifically proven that cutting your hair, increases your max speed by 0.331 km/h... It was a cheap upgrade, so I had it done...Sasha said my hair looks like the fluffy texture of a baby chick.
...Yep, that's right folks. Pure compost. The president of Venezuela, obviously defeated and frustrated, called the recent opposition victory a "Shit victory". When have you ever heard the president of a nation, say bad words on TV? Peoples of the world, see his true colors. Check it out!
...so bad that you think it's unhealthy to keep humming it? Well right now I have a great one stuck in my head: Let It Die By Foo Fighters off their new album. I just can't freakin' stop playing it. It also might have something to do with them being one of my favorite bands, and them coming down here on January 16th, where I will be on the ground floor with my big ol' mouth open.
"Gloria al Bravo Pueblo!" is the cry heard all around the Venezuelan community today, as a referendum to decide on constitutional reform was rejected by electoral vote. It is a great day for the peoples of me country, so yes I rejoice. Check out them pics! it's great to see the contrast of reactions from Chavistas to the opposition.
Originally from the streets of Caracas, BigLouBeats currently lives in sunny South Florida. All he ever does all day is play with a computer and he gets paid for it. His co-workers are like his brothers and sisters, and they're a very particular cast of characters. This is his blog.
He's gonna stop writing in the third person. No, really...he is. Cut it out you.
